The Return of Integral Fitness Solutions

It's been a bit more than 10 years since I stopped posting on this blog. During that time I developed Integral Options Cafe and The Masculine Heart into popular blogs and then grew in different directions and stopped posting new material (mostly).

When I first began this blog, I recently had become an ISSA-Certified Fitness Trainer and was working for myself for the first time in my life, originally doing in-home training and working at Bally Total Fitness, until their demise when LA Fitness bought them out and left them in waste. So I moved to a studio situation where I truly work for myself and pay rent for use of the space.

But I also become a licensed mental health counselor, completing my 2nd master's degree in 2012 (my first was in 1993, in Humanities). I work full-time (30 hours a week) providing psychotherapy to survivors of childhood sexual trauma for an agency in Tucson.

And then a part-time freelance job as an editor for a cancer researcher at the University of Arizona Cancer Center turned into a 20 hour a week job in which I not only edit and submit papers and grants, but I also write articles for peer-reviewed journals. In 2016, I have published Laminin-binding integrin gene copy number alterations in distinct epithelial-type cancers (Am J Transl Res. 2016 Feb 15;8(2):940-54) and The Cohesive Metastasis Phenotype in Human Prostate Cancer (Biochim Biophys Acta. 2016 Sep 24;1866(2):221-23).

I have revived this blog as an occasional blog, where I will share health and fitness news and articles, and where I will also publish some of my own original research writing.

I look forward to building a small community of readers.
